[Avionics Today 01-22-2014] Latin American low cost carrier VivaAerobus will equip its new fleet of 52 Airbus A320 aircraft with a series of data acquisition, aircraft condition monitoring and wireless data transfer solutions from Teledyne Controls.

The Mexican airline will install Teledyne’s Flight Data Interface Management Unit (FDIMU) and Wireless GroundLink Comm+ communication solution.

The system will meet the airline’s current need for downloading Quick Access Recording (QAR) and Aircraft Condition Monitoring System (ACMS) data and is also capable of meeting future requirements, such as full integration and connectivity of tablet devices, such as Electronic Flight Bags (EFBs) for flight crews.
