[Avionics Today 11-24-2014] The newly launched organization “Drones to the Rescue” aims to change the way we handle emergency situations using Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) through the company’s Indiegogo project, a crowd funding platform.

The organization believes that UAS have a unique ability to locate, assist and save victims faster and with more efficiency than any other option. The campaign mission is to provide its first product line of search and rescue UAS, many of which are water-resistant, lightweight and self-powered. The prototypes are also equipped with a stand-alone GPS tracker and have the capability to deliver real-time flight data information to a user’s laptop, computer or smartphone.
