[Avionics Today 11-17-2014] Rossiya Airlines gained authorization from the civil aviation authority of Russia to operate in a paperless cockpit environment, using Jeppesen FliteDeck Pro as its Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) solution. The two companies teamed up previously to integrate the airline’s fleet with iPad-based Class 2 EFB technology. The clearance from the Russian authority allows the airline to eliminate paper-based flight information, reducing fuel consumption and increasing operational efficiency.

“The use of iPad with FliteDeck Pro provides simplified and fully portable access to all critical flight information with the tap of a finger at any time, on the ground and in the air,” said Yury Shchepilov, chief of Rossiya Airlines Aeronautical Information Service Department.
