[Avionics Today 10-21-2014] Honeywell Aerospace and Asia-Pacific business aviation operator Deer Jet have partnered to offer in-country access to maintenance service for Honeywell’s Auxiliary Power Units (APU). The partnership aims to save time and costs for operators and marks the first line maintenance service center in mainland China for Honeywell since the company entered the country’s business and General Aviation (GA) market. The APU system provides primary or backup electrical power for environmental, cockpit and hydraulic systems during flight.

Chinese business aircraft operators will now be able to obtain service promptly in China instead of either calling on a foreign mobile team or traveling to areas like Hong Kong or Singapore. In addition, the new maintenance service center will provide APU service to international flights in transit.
