[Avionics Today 10-02-2014] Boeing has delivered China’s first new-generation Boeing jetliner, the 747-8, to Air China. In a statement released by Air China, the carrier stated that the advertised quieter, more fuel efficient type aircraft will become one of the leading wide-body types on the airline’s international long-haul routes.

The fuselage of the 747-8 measures 76.4 meters long, and has a capacity of 467 passengers and a range of up to 14,815 8000 nautical miles.

The 747-8 will be put into service in domestic market on Oct. 11 and the airplane will be introduced into such international routes as Beijing-Frankfurt and Beijing-Los Angeles by the end of the year.
