[Avionics Today 09-19-2014] Northrop Grumman Park Air Systems, Northrop Grumman’s U.K.-based air traffic management subsidiary, announced the introduction of a new line-up of Air Traffic Control (ATC) communication products called Sapphire.

According to Northrop Grumman, Sapphire is a solution-driven portfolio of products and services aimed at providing ATC communication systems with components for purchase, installation and maintenance. At the heart of the portfolio is the ATC radio, the Park Air T6, which is compact, reduces environmental impact, and is fully compliant with Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6), and the European Organization for Civil Aviation Equipment (EUROCAE) Interoperability Standards for VoIP ATM (ED-137).

Sapphire includes a new mounted cabinet architecture, MARC Server, support services, and training through the Park Air Academy based in a training center at the company’s facility near Peterborough, U.K.
