[Avionics Today 08-25-2014] Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific Airways and Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) recently announced the commencement of a new four-times-weekly nonstop service from Boston Logan International Airport to Hong Kong. The service will start on May 3, 2015, subject to government approval.

The new service will link New England and Hong Kong directly for the first time, which should significantly reduce flight times. This marks Cathay Pacific’s sixth gateway into the United States, and eighth in North America.

The Boston service will be operated by Boeing 777-300ER aircraft and potentially offers increased freight-shipping capabilities from New England to Asia.
