[Avionics Today May 5, 2014] Lockheed Martin will provide a Modernized Target Acquisition Designation Sight/Pilot Night Vision Sensor (M-TADS/PNVS) on the U.S. Army AH-64 Apache helicopter fleet, under a new $80.6 million production contract.

The upgrade will provide Apache pilots with increased situational awareness for missions that occur within deteriorated visual environments. Under the contract, Lockheed will also provide systems for the Indonesian Army.

“This production lot directly supports the AH-64E production line,” said Lt. Col. Steven Van Riper, U.S. Army Apache Sensors Product Manager. “Being able to ‘bundle’ our procurement with one of our Foreign Military Sales partners increases our buying power.”

The contract will extend M-TADS/PNVS production through July 2016.
