[Avionics Today April 10, 2014] Telefonix has a new agreement to develop an onboard server, the ACPU-2, for Gogo’s in-flight connectivity service.

ACPU-2 features ARINC 429, expanded Gigabit Ethernet ports supported by a Layer 2/3 Gigabit Ethernet switch and extended onboard multi-Terabyte SSD mass storage capability, among other new features.  The new server also has an E link type of display to show the software revision to maintenance personnel, even in the event that the power is removed from the unit.

Additionally, ACPU-2 features an autonomous micro controller to monitor the health of all of its internal processor cards, Telefonix said. "Our development team has worked jointly with Gogo’s engineers and are on schedule to meet Gogo’s development and installation schedule. We look forward to a very successful launch of the ACPU-2," said Michael Kuehn, president of Telefonix.
