[Avionics Today February 21, 2014] Sandel Avionics announced upgrades to its SG102 Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS) to improve the initialization time by one minute, or three times the speed of the original SG102.

The upgrade also added selectable low and high speed ARINC 429 output to allow for additional interfacing options with radar systems, satellite communicator antennas and other onboard systems.

“These upgrades are especially pertinent for law enforcement, firefighting and EMS (aircraft),” said Gerry Block, president and CEO of Sandel. “To insure we were making the most relevant updates, we included dealer input as well as worked closely with customers to help direct the improvements.”
