The two companies went public with the agreement during the Singapore Airshow, also announcing that CMC will supply the PilotView Aircraft Information Server (AIS) for an EFB-compatible integrated aircraft information management system. Both the EFB and AIS will be factory options for the CSeries, which is scheduled to enter service in 2015.

Greg Yledon, CMC’s president, said the selection confirms its EFBs “are evolving with OEM aircraft information management requirements [to support] … greater integration with aircraft systems.”

Certified for Class 2 and Class 3 usage, the PilotView EFB is also a factory option for Dassault’s Falcon 900, 2000 and 7X as well as Embraer’s Legacy 600/650 and E-170/190 aircraft.
