Garmin has upgraded the capabilities for its G500 and G600 legacy flight displays with new software version 6.21 which features updates specific to certain airframes and installations.

Among the upgrades is a new function that displays the flight director simultaneously with synthetic vision for select Cessna autopilot systems on both the G500 and G600. The upgrades also provide basic GWX70 weather radar functions and supports Cessna 400B/800B/1000 IFCS autopilots when paired with a GAD 43e.

The G600 upgrade is available immediately while the G500 version will be available by February 2014.
