Park Air Systems, Northrop Grumman’s U.K.-based air traffic management subsidiary, has a new agreement with Dutch Caribbean Air Navigation Service Provider (DC-ANSP) to build a ground-to-air communications system for the Curacao Flight Information Region.
The system consists of 300-watt transmitters, mast-head amplifiers and high-gain antenna rays, replicating air traffic systems installed in other oceanic regions such as Hudson Bay in Canada, Greenland in the North Atlantic, Bay of Bengal, South China Sea and the Arabian Gulf. DC-ANSP was looking to upgrade its current air traffic management system due to the high volume of flights between North and South America in the Curacao region.
Park Air has already delivered its T6 VHF radios, which will be installed on the hilltop site Seru Gracia on the island of Curacao, though the company has not yet targeted a date for completion of the new system.
