L-3 Platform Integration received a second Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) 747-8 for completion at its VIP and Head- of-State Completion Center in Waco, Texas, where the company will install a VVIP interior for a confidential customer.

The company said the arrival of the aircraft makes it the first completion center in the world to have two BBJ 747-8s being modified simultaneously for VVIP interiors. The work on this aircraft includes a complete interior featuring the latest technologies in entertainment systems, lighting and sound elimination/dampening, the company said. The company’s first BBJ 747-8 arrived in November for completion.

“Our team is well prepared to undertake this latest completion project,” said Nick Farah, executive vice president of L-3 Platform Systems, which includes Platform Integration. “We are proud to be the first company to have two 747-8s being completed at the same time.”

L-3’s aircraft modification portfolio includes 50 VIP aircraft deliveries. L-3 has extensive experience working on multiple models of the Boeing 747, as well as 777, 767, 757, 737, A340, A310 and MD-11 aircraft. L-3 is a Boeing-recognized completion center for both wide-body and business jets.
