South Korean low-cost carrier JEJU AIR has selected Honeywell to provide a full suite of avionics for its new fleet of Boeing 737-800 NGs. This multimillion-dollar contract covers six aircraft that are expected to be delivered between 2013 and 2017. JEJU AIR will be the first LCC in North Asia to fly Boeing 737 NG aircraft with Honeywell’s full avionics suite.

“South Korea is an important growth market, and extending into the LCC space through our partnership with JEJU AIR presents many opportunities,” said Pak Chin, Honeywell Aerospace vice president of airlines, Asia Pacific. “Honeywell’s full avionics suite will maximize aircraft performance, decrease operating and maintenance costs, and increase pilot and crew efficiency, providing JEJU AIR with a safe and smart way to lower total cost of ownership.”

The Honeywell avionics systems selected include Quantum Line communications/navigation sensors; Airborne Collision Avoidance System (ACAS II); Flight Data Acquisition and Management System (FDAMS); and IntuVue 3-D Weather Radar.
