Cobham’s 3-D Synthetic Vision Electronic Flight Instrument System (EFIS) received Brazilian validation for AS350/355 model series helicopters, allowing for aftermarket installation in that country, the company said Monday. The EFIS had previously received validation for Bell 206 and 407.
The fully digital EFIS includes an integrated Helicopter Terrain Awareness and Warning System (HTAWS), integrated Flight Management System (FMS), Highway-In-The-Sky (HITS) predictive flight director, and Hover Vector. The company said the system enables safer, more stable flight across the challenging terrain and weather conditions of Brazil.
