Airbus Completes Metron Acquisition

Airbus completed its acquisition of Metron Aviation, of Dulles, Va., the companies announced Wednesday.

This acquisition, which was first announced in July, bolsters Airbus’ strategy to accelerate and support air traffic management (ATM) programs that will  dramatically improve global air transportation capacity, efficiency and environmental sustainability, Airbus said. Metron Aviation is now operating as a subsidiary of Airbus Americas, Inc.

"Airbus is delighted to welcome Metron Aviation into the Airbus family and is committed to fostering the continued innovation and successful partnerships with the FAA and other industry leaders that will help shape the future of air transportation worldwide."  Airbus ProSky is a subsidiary created to pursue Airbus’ strategy in ATM development and enhancement.
