The L-3 Aviation Products Group will be supplying a broad range of avionics for installation on Sky Aircraft’s new Skylander SK-105. The L-3 APG will provide this equipment to Sky Aircraft through Cobham Avionics as the core avionics integrator.

The products include the TCAS 3000SP with dual RCZ-852 Mode S Transponders; Stormscope® Weather Mapping System; Model FA2100 Cockpit Voice Recorder; Digital Flight Data Recorder (DFDR) and the Digital Flight Data Acquisition Unit (DFDAU).

The first flight of the SK-105 is planned for mid-2012, with type certification expected by the end of 2013.

“The L-3 APG product line is a great fit for the Skylander SK-105 and Cobham,” said L-3 APG president Kris Ganase. “Our products represent industry-leading technologies that enhance safety and situational awareness for pilots and passengers. We’re excited to be part of this great new airplane.”

The Skylander SK-105 is a modern design, multi-purpose twin turbo-prop aircraft capable of transporting 19 passengers or 2.7 tons of freight and operating in extreme environments, on short, roughly-prepared airstrips.
