Panasonic Avionics, of Lake Forest, Calif., has installed its eX2 in-flight entertainment and communication (IFEC) system on an Air France B777-300ER. This is the first of 11 new Air France B777s that will be delivered with Panasonic’s system. The B777-300ER is scheduled to enter service Dec. 20.

"Since early 2008, we have been operating Panasonic’s eX2 on our KLM B777s. We are now pleased to take delivery of the first eX2 system as installed on Air France’s new B777-300ERs. The combination of our IFE programming and Panasonic’s leading eX2 system will allow Air France to provide the best entertainment to our passengers," said Christian Herzog, Senior Vice-President Marketing Air France – KLM.

Panasonic’s eX2 offers access to audio and video on demand (AVOD). In addition, Air France passengers will be able to use the IFEC system to view photographs and listen to MP3 files loaded on their own personal USB storage device. Business travelers will be able to work on their Excel, Word and PowerPoint documents directly from the IFE system.
