Moroccan airline Royal Air Maroc has signed a five-year contract for the flight planning system Lido/Flight from Lufthansa Systems, the companies announced Tuesday. Lido/Flight covers all aspects of flight planning and the associated follow-up processes and calculates the best route available between two airports, according to Lufthansa.

Royal Air Maroc has been using Lufthansa’s NetLine/Sched for schedule management and NetLine/Ops for operations control for several years. The system controls and monitors airline operations including schedule management, operations control, crew management, flight planning and weight and balance.

"We need powerful and sophisticated IT solutions to optimize the efficiency of our flight operations and reduce costs in our global network spanning Africa, the Middle East, Europe and North America," said Habiba Laklalech, deputy director general support at Royal Air Maroc. "Lufthansa Systems impressed us in previous projects with its in-depth airline expertise and modern technologies. This is why we
have opted for Lido/Flight for optimizing our dispatch processes."
