Sikorsky selected a Cockpit Voice/Flight Data Recorder (CVFDR) from Universal Avionics Systems as a forward-fit option for its S-76C++ and standard on S-76D commercial helicopters, the companies announced Thursday.

Universal Avionics’ CVFDR-145R with Recorder Independent Power Supply (RIPS) will be standard on the S-76D and will be optional on the S-76C++ platform. This marks Universal Avionics’ entry into the Parts 27 and Parts 29 rotorcraft market with a cockpit voice and flight data recorder as a forward-fit option.

“We are extremely pleased to work with Sikorsky to supply this innovative voice and flight data recorder,” said Robert Clare, director North American Marketing for Universal Avionics. “We continue to employ progressive technology to present the most compact and lightest weight recorders to the aircraft industry.”
