Florida’s Hollywood International Airport is now operating with Sensis Airport Surface Detection Equipment, Model X (ASDE-X), a runway incursion detection and alerting system. Fifteen of the 35 airports to receive the technology through FAA’s ASDE-X program are now operational, Sensis said. ASDE-X combines ground surveillance data to provide air traffic controllers with real-time position and identification information of all aircraft and vehicles on the airport surface.
