Naverus, of Kent, Wash., signed an agreement with Chinese carrier Sichuan Airlines to provide tailored Performance-Based Navigation (PBN) procedures for Lhasa Airport. Under terms of the agreement, Naverus also will assist the airline in obtaining regulatory approval to fly the procedures with its fleet of Airbus A319s.  With this agreement, Sichuan becomes the fourth airline in China to contract with Naverus for PBN services. The Naverus-designed procedures incorporate Required Navigation Performance (RNP). “Sichuan Airlines is eager to put these RNP procedures into service at Lhasa,” said Capt. LI Guang, Vice President in charge of Flight Operations of Sichuan Airlines. “Using RNP, Sichuan Airlines will be able to improve service into Lhasa, while flying safer, more efficient routes.” In addition to Sichuan, Naverus is working with Air China, China Southern and China Eastern to implement RNP procedures at airports in Linzhi, Bangda and Jiuzhaigou.
