Elbit Buys Innovative Concepts

Elbit Systems of America, of Fort Worth, Texas, will pay $15 million in cash to acquire all the shares of Innovative Concepts, Inc., of McLean, Va., from Herley Industries, the company announced Tuesday. Innovative Concepts designs and produces real-time embedded and processing systems for defense and homeland security applications. Elbit said Innovative Concepts will become part of its C4I Solutions business. “We are pleased to take this important step towards enhancing our command, control and networking solutions capabilities in the U.S. market. This acquisition compliments our battlefield management systems offering with data networking capability which is a key component of these systems,” said Raanan Horowitz, president and CEO of Elbit Systems America.
