Garmin International, Olathe, Kan., won a supplemental type certificate (STC) from FAA for its G1000 avionics suite in the King Air C90A/GT, the company’s first G1000 retrofit STC. Garmin said this STC paves the way for future G1000 retrofit installations such as the King Air 200 and B200. The G1000 suite integrates primary flight information, navigation data, communications, terrain awareness, traffic, weather and engine instruments on a large 15-inch multi-function display and two 10.4-inch primary flight displays. Other G1000 features include Wide Area Augmentation System, Class-B Terrain Awareness and Warning System, dual integrated solid-state Attitude and Heading Reference Systems and dual integrated digital air data computers.
