Qatar Airways selected a Rockwell Collins avionics suite for 20 Boeing 777s with an option for 20 additional aircraft. Financial terms were not disclosed. The suite includes Rockwell Collins’ WXR-2100 MultiScan Hazard Detection System, an automatic airborne radar system that enhances safety and passenger comfort by minimizing unexpected turbulence encounters, and provides optimal clutter-free weather detection from the nose of the aircraft to 320 nautical miles, the company said. The airline also chose Rockwell Collins’ Traffic Collision Avoidance System and SAT-2100 satellite navigation with dual SwiftBroadband.
