Panasonic Avionics, the Lake Forest, Calif.-based in-flight entertainment (IFE) supplier, named Paul Margis its new CEO, the company announced Wednesday. Margis joined the company in 1992 and has more than 30 years of technology design and management experience, the company said. Also, the company said Yasu Enokido, currently director of avionics business unit at Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Ltd. and senior vice president of regional sales and operations at Panasonic Avionics, will become president and chief operating officer. “As the IFE market grows and changes, we too must adapt. We believe this change will further strengthen our company and its ability to provide operational excellence and innovative products and services to our valued customers,” Margis said. In other Panasonic news, the company said last week Australia’s Quantas Airlines will install its IFE system on its new Airbus A380 aircraft, which are set to be delivered in August 2008. The system, the airline said, will give passengers greater choice, wireless connectivity and in-seat access to e-mail and the Internet. For related news
