The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) selected HITT Holland Institute of Traffic Technology B.V. of the Netherlands and Era Corporation of the United States for the deployment of an Advanced-Surface Movement Guidance and Control System (A-SMGCS) for Singapore Changi Airport. Era, which is based in Alexandria, Va., said the system includes HITT’s Display and Processing System together with Era’s MSS network of multilateration and automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) sensors. MSS by Era will provide the CAAS the ability to track all aircraft and ground vehicles with technology suited to today’s transponders as well as future ADS-B technologies. Additionally, Era’s multilateration technology provides a more accurate, cost-effective solution when compared to traditional Surface Movement Radars.
